Gillian Muessig is the President and Co-Founder of SEOmoz. SEOmoz.org serves a community of 300,000 search marketers around the world. The SEOmoz blog is read by 50,000 SEOs each month. Gillian speaks to YourStory about emerging Digital media trends in India and Click Asia Summit 2011.Known as SEOmom throughout the industry, Gillian has provided keynotes and sessions for conferences and seminars, including: SMX, A4UExpo, International Search Conference, OMS, IMC Stockholm, TiE, Champion Group, World Brand Congress, Miva Merchant, Affiliate Convention, PubCon, and others.

How do you see the role of digital media shaping in the near future?

India is seeing the initial upswing curve of Internet adoption. With approximately 18-20% of the population already engaged with web-enabled cell phones, the web is becoming increasingly mobile. I see a continuing rise in social media engagement and swift adoption of social commerce over the next 12- 24 months. A decline in the impact of print, TV, and radio media will correspond with the increase in the impact of digital media, followed by the decline of print media (18-36 mnths) in the major metropolitan areas. Rural areas will lag from one to ten or more years in the decline of traditional media.

What can the audience expect from you at Click Asia Summit 2011?

SEO, PPC, SMM, MMM, CRO, LPO... whatever the 3-letter acronym for the tactic and regardless of the tactic you specialize in or use to optimize and promote your website, the goal is always to achieve ROI. My session will provide a clear path from the selection and benchmarking of the correct key performance indicators (metrics) to decisions about which tactics to employ (analysis) to implementation (action). Clicks, conversions and even sales don't necessarily spell net financial success. My audience can expect to leave, understanding how to improve their profits.

As a delegate, what is your key takeaway expectation from Click Asia Summit 2011?

I am looking for KPIs (key performance indicators) on the State of Search in India in 2011. I am hoping to hear serious discussion on the current and future landscape of the search marketing landscape in India and the surrounding regions, as well as technically accurate and tactically reliable information on SEO, SMM.
