First Place Receives £16k($25K) Cash and £3k($5K) Cash in Ad Network Spend. Other Prizes Include HP TouchPads, Verizon MiFi cards and a VC Pitch Meeting with Draper Fisher Jurvetson

Today InMobi announced its partnership with the Box Mobile Developer Challenge, a two-month long contest open to developers from around the globe.

Entrants into the contest use Box APIs to create enterprise apps for Android, iOS and webOS mobile devices. The contest will be judged by leading mobile influencers from Accenture, AT&T, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Hewlett-Packard, InMobi, ReadWriteWeb, MobileCrunch, VentureBeat, Verizon, Xyologic and Box.

Developers are competing for a wide variety of prizes including: up to £22k ($35K) in cash, £6k ($10K) in InMobi ad network spend, HP TouchPads, Verizon MiFi cards, plus a chance to attend a VC pitch meeting with Draper Fisher Jurvetson.

“This contest is a great way for us to help mobile developers around the globe not only build great apps, but also get an opportunity to turn their apps into a venture backed business.” said Gregory Kennedy, Director, Global Marketing of InMobi. “It’s because the enterprise mobile app market tends to be underserved that we felt there was a big opportunity here for up and coming entrepreneurs. We’re very excited to see what they dream up."

“Explosive mobile adoption in the enterprise market is creating a huge opportunity for developers to bring new innovation to a historically stagnant market – especially as tablets create new demand for mobile access,” said Aaron Levie, co-founder and CEO of Box. “With this challenge, we're encouraging developers to build powerful apps that leverage the Box platform to reimagine how today's mobile workers engage with their content."

How to Enter to the Contest

The Box Mobile Developer Challenge begins today, and concludes on September 9, 2011. Winners will be notified during the final weeks of September and the top two will be invited to join Box on stage at its first annual customer conference in San Francisco on September 28, 2011.
