NASSCOM Foundation Announces 4th Edition of Social Innovation Honours

NASSCOM Foundation(NF) pioneered the NASSCOM Social Innovation Honours(NSIH) in 2008, to recognise innovation in the use of Information and Communication Technology(ICT) for social development. The annual Honours aim to showcase projects that demonstrate best practices through exemplary use of ICT in areas of social transformation. Eligible social innovation can be a product, process, or technology as also a principle, an idea, an intervention, or a combination of these using ICT.NSIH has 7 categories for the Social Innovation Honours. The categories are listed below:
ICT led Social Innovation by a ‘Not For Profit’ organization - An innovation by a nonprofit organization for social development
ICT led Social Innovation by a ‘For Profit’ organization, as a Business Model - An innovation by an organization(whose objective is making profit) for social development, as a part of its business plan
ICT led Social Innovation by a ‘For Profit’ organization through Corporate Social Responsibility - An innovation by an organization(whose objective is making profit) for social development, as a part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives
ICT led Social Innovation by a Government Body - An innovation by a Government department/body for social development
ICT led Social Innovation by Individual/Group - An innovation by an individual or a group of individuals for social development
ICT led Innovative Social Concept by Student(s) - An innovative concept by college student(s) for social development
ICT led Social Innovation by Multi Stakeholder Partnerships - A project initiated by two or more stakeholders for social development
