E-Shakti awarded the Best Government to Citizen Initiative at e-world 2011

‘E-Shakti’ is an initiative by the government of Bihar, for successful implementation of MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) in the state through highly automated attendance and wage mechanism. In order to simplify the process of getting jobs under MNREGA and to bring transparency and end the possibility of corruption, the state government and Glodyne are implementing ‘E-Shakti’ under public private partnership model.With ‘E-shakti’ the processes of registration, receipts, job demand, muster rolls, works, attendance, calculation and disbursement of wages has been digitalized saving all the paperwork and complexity giving the rightful benefit to the card holders. All the beneficiaries under the ‘E-shakti’ scheme will also get introduced to banking through financial inclusion services which Glodyne is providing along with its banking partners.
Commenting on the award, Mr. Shantanu Rooj, Director and Sr. VP- Business Development at Glodyne said, “The E-shakti project implements MNREGA in the state sincerely by ensuring technology enables the implementation of the scheme in a transparent and accountable manner with the right full beneficiaries getting their dues. It also provides them with banking facilities at their door steps ensuring financial inclusion. I am delighted that the project has been voted “Best Government to Citizen Initiative” in the Country. It’s a testimonial of our belief that public private partnership and innovative technology services can bring about transformation at the grass root level. I would like to thank all the officials in the government who have always extended their support for the project and congratulate the Project Director of ‘e-shakti’ and Sr. VP, Mr. Binod Mishra and his team which is implementing the project, they have created a new bench mark in ICT implementation in e-governance.“
