Mobile Advertising to Touch INR 144 crores by 2013 [IAMAI Report]

Mobile Advertising is all set to touch INR 144 crores by 2013. As of March’12, the market is pegged at INR 105 Crores, according to the findings of the 4th Digital Advertising Report jointly published by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and IMRB.
Mobile Ads accounted for about INR 90 Crores of the total Indian digital advertising industry in March 2011. The share of Mobile Ads has grown by 17 percent, valued at INR 105 Crores in March 2012. This is slated to reach INR 144 Crores by 2013, which will be approximately 4 percent of the total digital advertising spend.
Mobile advertisements comprises of:
- WAP / Browser Based Ads
- In-App Advertisements
- Short Messaging Services (SMS)
Figure 3 depicts the advertisements viewed on Mobile Browser or WAP forms - the largest share of mobile advertising at 75 percent. While, INR 21 Crores was spent on In-App Advertising, about INR 5 Crores was spent on SMS.
