Startup Weekend Education Kicks Off April 13

Startup Weekend Education which begins this Friday is an intense 54-hour event which focuses on building a web or mobile education application which could form the basis of a credible business over the course of a weekend.

The primary aim of SWE is to teach entrepreneurship by experiencing it first-hand while the secondary aim is to develop solutions to important problems in the world.


Speakers:

Tom Hall: Tom is Head of Partnerships at Pearson, where he works with businesses around the world on digital strategy for their eucational and consumer products, and with technology communities to open more doors into Pearson content and services.

Anand Daniel: Anand is a Principal at Accel Partners. At Accel, he focuses on investments in Healthcare, Education and Information Technology.

The weekend brings together people with different skill-sets – primarily educators, software developers, graphics designers and business people – to build relevant applications and develop a commercial case around them.

Startup Weekend Education is a vertical under Startup Weekend, a non-profit organization that was founded in 2007 in Seattle, US. Over the past four years, Startup Weekend has been organized in more than 200 cities and 40 countries across the world. SW in India was launched in March of 2011 and 7 events have been organized across the nation since then in Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai. SW Education India will kick-off in April 2012 (Apr 13th - 15th).
