Shopo.in takes a New Leap; Unveils Shop 2.0

Shopo.in, the marketplace for Indian designer and handcrafted items has made the transition from beta stage to version 2.0. The online store that sells Indian products across categories such as apparel, accessories, home décor etc, is taking this step forward ahead of its first anniversary, falling on June 20th. Shopo 2.0 is set to step the shopping experience for users by integrating the portal with “social” elements.

Notable features include:

Live Feed:  Shopo 2.0 will have a live feed that constantly updates visitors with user activities, as and when they are happening on the portal. Real time activity updates will aid shoppers in discovering new products on Shopo!

Better Discovery: With multiple products and stores, it could become difficult for shoppers to find products of interest. The social integration enables better discovery and sharing of favourite products for others to discover. Shoppers can now see how many likes a product has received and the number of people who have bought it. Shopping decisions also become easier with instant reviews. The home page will showcase what people are sharing or liking in real-time, giving the users, total control on the content.

Social shopping: Users can now shop with their friends with a Facebook connect feature. The feature also allows users to integrate their Facebook profile to their Shopo profile and make their shopping experience social! Every product that is bought, wishlisted for, and recommended becomes the talk amongst the social circles.

Seller dashboard:  Tested among a select few sellers, the seller dashboard is now open to all sellers on Shopo! New sellers who wish to register can also use the dashboard. For the first time in India, Sellers can see view analytics for their own stores, make changes to their shops, apply for new shops and access sales and payment reports, and a lot more using this dashboard, barring a few changes which will have to be approved by the Shopo team before going live.

Speaking about the launch of the new version, Chief Technology Officer of Shopo, Theyagarajan Sundarmoorthy said Shopping may have moved online but shoppers still want the experience to match with shopping offline.
