Why We Love Delhi So Much? [TechSparks 2012- Delhi Roundtable]
We began our Techsparks 2012 campaign with “Aamchi Mumbai” and the response we got from there was amazing. Next on the radar was Delhi and we were putting our best to match the effort in Mumbai. If the weather was anything to go by, it wasn’t looking good; temperatures soaring to the mid-forties in the capital of India and a Saturday afternoon don’t exactly comprise to form a situation in which one would expect people to turn up in huge numbers. But we were in for a surprise. Delhi completely overawed us and the high quality of audience we had from the buzzling startup ecosystem of NCR was phenomenal.
The event started at 2pm with a half an hour networking session followed by a speech by Kunal Bahl, the founder of SnapDeal. The theme of TechSparks 2012, “How to smartly scale up” coincided exactly with learnings one could take away from Kunal's speech. Here’s a compendium of The 7 learnings from Kunal Bahl which showcases the key highlights from the talk.
The next part of the event was a highly engaging Panel Discussion that was moderated by Shradha Sharma, the Founder of Yourstory.in. The Panel consisted of some eminent personalities: Mohit Bhatnagar, Managing Director, Sequoia Capital, Sachin Kelkar, Head India and APAC, Intel, Rick Harshman, Head of ASEAN and India, AWS, Shabir Momin, Founders & CEO of the Zenga Group of companies. Witnessing the discussion was an extremely intelligent Delhi audience and interaction between the Panel and audience led to possible solutions to many existing scaling up issues.
The Panel Discussion was rounded up by another networking session which went on for so long (more than 2 hours) that the Indian Habitat Centre (the venue) officials had to drive the people out of the Hotel as there was another event starting :)
So, next up is Chennai! And we know Chennai for its punctuality and obviously sweltering heat (we being based of Bangalore, find every other city hot). Do REGISTER. See you there!
