Startup Leadership Program: Creating World Class CEOs
Aiming to create yet another batch of high impact Indian CEOs, Startup Leadership Program, a global entrepreneurial program is back this year in its 3rd edition in India. With applications open for the batch 2012-13, this year’s program, like every year, will bring together 20-25 high impact entrepreneurs in every city to coach and create the next generation CEOs. Leveraging its growing impact, the program will also be adding Pune to its existing list of Indian cities that include Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad.Running successfully for 4 years now, 215 fellows have graduated out of SLP starting 100+ companies and raising $75M+ from angels and venture funds. The program will select candidates with clear leadership potential who can either build or market products and services with high impact. Though failure of an idea is not a criterion for selection, it is demonstration of entrepreneurial behavior that is a serious determinant during the selection process.
Designed to assess the candidate and not his/her idea, the well-structured curriculum is co-designed by the Fellows themselves, with guidelines and global practices from the SLP HQ based out of Boston. Classes are usually organized every third Saturday for the Indian entrepreneurs. Mentors include a mix of past Fellows, serial entrepreneurs, academicians, researchers, VCs, and analysts. The complete list of mentors can be seen here. The last date for the deadline for applying is July 31, 2012. Interested Indian entrepreneurs can apply here to the nearest Chapter.
