E-Summit by IIM Shillong, an Initiative to Promote Entrepreneurship in the North-East

EmergE is the first Entrepreneurship Summit of i-Cube, Entrepreneurship Cell, IIM Shillong to be held on 14th & 15th of September, 2012. i-Cube as an Entrepreneurship Cell aims to inspire, nurture and engage students to become entrepreneurs leading to the betterment of the Indian economy.With IIM, Shillong aiming to disseminate management education in the North-East states of India, i-Cube intends to further encourage the young entrepreneurs to ideate, inspire and innovate such that the purpose of job creation leading to a better society.

The E-Summit intends to bring together budding entrepreneurs, both from the academia as well as from the corporate world. The summit would include panel discussions, along with workshops with eminent corporates and entrepreneurs. It would also act as a platform to discuss the business potential of North-East and thereby promote the spirit of entrepreneurship among the local population and the b-school participants.

Some of the events planned for E-summit are:

• B-Plan competition – The B-Plan contest gives one an opportunity to showcase, nurture and expedite the ideas with deep rooted benefits
• Case Study competition - An event that tests the strategic decision making skills of the to-be entrepreneurs
• Inclusive Growth Conclave- Eminent panel members will deliberate on the ways and means of “Inclusive growth in the North East through Entrepreneurship”
• Women Entrepreneurship Conclave- The issues surrounding women entrepreneurship and the way around them would be discussed in detail, which will be an eye-opener for other young women looking to start their own venture
