AppTab Smile & AppTab Sleek with Android 4.0.3 Ice-cream Sandwich, Bluetooth, AppTab Geno & AppTabDuniya with Phone costs just a sixth of the price of renowned tablets available in the market. After the introduction of tablets in July 2010 in India, they have seen huge growth in terms of dongles, Bluetooth and GPS devices along with AppTab Vegas 9.7inch with IPS Screen.
They launched these tablets at the end of August 2012 and the response has been good till date:
AppTab Tablet PC’s five latest models are: AppTab Smile (4,999/-), AppTab Sleek (6,999/-), AppTab Geno (11,999/-), AppTab Duniya (14,794/-), AppTab Vegas (14,991/-). These have been launched recently in the South Indian markets. Also, AppTab is offering leather covers with keyboards, Power banks, Portable Wi-Fi routers and a variety of USB Drives. They have also tied up with MapMyIndia for Navigational systems & Tata Photon for data cards to give value addition to their customers.
A major challenge is the lure of big brands. “Indian consumers are accustomed to the big brands. Even if any other tab gives the same features in lesser price it’s difficult to get the credibility from the consumers. Other problems are like, Exchange rate fluctuation and price variation in the market,” says Suresh.
AppTab iTech is planning to establish 251 service centres in 150 cities across India and 12 warehouses in all major cities. More Service Centres shall follow. They have also designated a R&D team for product development support and plans are on for associations with application developers to integrate AppTab with exclusive applications for Schools, Colleges, Banks and other industry specific apps.
