Priyankar Baid, is an Engineer from IIT Roorkee and has done his MBA from ISB Hyderabad. He is serial entrepreneur with over a decade’s experience in the retail, management and KPO sector. Having extensive experience in working with SMEs in areas of finance, operations and accounting across India and North America, his entrepreneurial streak led to the inception of smesauda.com in March 2012.

SmeSauda is an online platform for Small and Medium Enterprises(SMEs) in India. SmeSauda leverages the collective buying potential of SMEs to provide its members discounts and wholesale rates across the products and services. Targeting tier 1 and 2 cities via strategic partnerships and online marketing, smesauda has been able to get significant traction. "Once these customers in places where there is less availability figure out that the process works, they start ordering in bulk and the word spreads quickly," informs Priyankar.

Smesauda.com’s key product categories are Computers, Networking Equipments, Printers, Software’s, Security Devices, Office and Power Equipment. The key service categories are Equipment Rental, Information Technology and Web services, Tele Communication, Accounting, Shipping and Freight, Printing and HR services. Some upcoming categories are Office Furniture, Warehousing Services, and Advertising and PR.

smesauda.com has around 45 categories and a 10 member team powering the operations. Currently bootstrapped and looking to expand, smesauda is in talks with investors and is looking to raise funds to fuel it's growth.

Not positioning them as an eCommerce venture, smesauda has an interesting niche that they've located. Targeting tier 1,2 cities and industry connections are the plus points for Priyankar's venture. We'll track the progress of this startup to bring you the latest updates.
