Gamooz Accomplishes World's First AR Implementation for a Diorama for HPCL
As Wikipedia defines it Augmented Reality is, "a live, direct or indirect, view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented by computer-generated sensory input such as sound, video, graphics or GPS data." The field hasn't been really in the focus yet in India but there are some startups who focus exclusively on AR. GAMOOZ is one such company and in a recent development have accomplished an AR implementation for a Diorama for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. at Petrotech Event in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi (14-17 Oct, 2012).
What is a Diorama?
A three-dimensional miniature or life-size scene in which figures, stuffed wildlife, or other objects are arranged in a naturalistic setting against a painted background.
GAMOOZ is a Tech30 company
that specializes in Augmented Reality applications for mobile (iPhone, iPad, Android,Blackberry, Symbian, Bada), desktop, online, big screens and kiosks. In last one year, GAMOOZ has created 50+ AR applications for a number of companies and agencies across the globe. This project was developed by GAMOOZ in association with Pavilions and Interiors. With this setup(Diorama+AR), HPCL wanted to showcase their CSR and Green Initiatives:
1- Clean Fuel
2- Wind Energy
3- Water Harvesting
4- Solar Energy
5- Corporate Social Responsibility
"There were 2-iPads fitted on 2-Swiwel stands, using which the delegates scanned the Diorama to view the 3D and video representation of HPCL's initiatives in Augmented Reality. The users could also click on virtual button in AR to know more information about the initiatives," explained Gaurav Wadhwa, co-founder, Gamooz.
