HeadStart Network has come up with an initiative to bridge the gap between startups and candidates called Headstart Higher, a startup-job speed-dating event. In a Higher event, startups get to see several high potential

candidates and good candidates get to see several prospective employers; all in a short time. Headstart Higher works differently for a startup and a candidate. Every interested startup is allowed to participate, given that they’d bring at least one of the co-founders to participate at the event. Candidates, however, will have to go through a selection process and only selected candidates are allowed to participate in this event. More than 70% of the shortlisted candidates have an experience of 2 years or more. The candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their experience, accomplishments and why they want to work with a startup. The event comprises of a speed dating session wherein a bell is rung every 3 minutes and there are mechanisms to ensure that each startup knows a bit about each candidate in advance and visa versa. It worked in Delhi and Mumbai where they had 100+ startups talking with 180+ candidates in a quick speed-dating format. Each startup rolled out 2 job offers on an average. One of the entrepreneurs in the Delhi event, Ankur Singla (Akosha), said "I've never met so many good candidates in a single place ever!"
