Senthil Raja and Ramesh Kumar have a very calm and relaxed demeanour. Having met them multiple times, one could sense some technical brilliance oozing out of them. Hailing from Chennai, the duo have been making their presence felt at various events and after spending quite some time developing and iterating their product, have launched LocalEver. They started working on LocalEver on April 9, 2011 and released beta version on May 13, 2012. And now, they're ready to fire on all cylinders.
What is it?
LocalEver is the real time location based market place to Buy, Sell and Rent anything locally (for free). LocalEver provides 'Radius Search' to search items within particular radius from particular location. Users can search items Streetwise and Area wise via Google Maps.
It provides 'Neighbourhood Search' to know about your locality before finalizing things. It connects buyers & sellers real time via 'Live Chat' and 'Real Time Notifications'.
If a person is living in kodambakkam (Chennai) and working in a company in Anna nagar. For some reasons the company planned to move to ECR (East Coast Road), and now you have to travel 70 kms a day. Now the person is left with only 3 options, either leave the company or stay in kodambakkam and travel 70 km every day or relocate to ECR. LocalEver will help you if you choose option 3.
It allows the person to find the houses closer to office in ECR accurately using geo powered radius search. One can also know more about the locality using the neighborhood search and it also provides corporate search.
Save Time: LocalEver provides option to 'Set Alerts' to get email & SMS alerts based on the search criteria.
Stay Organised: Users can bookmark and save favorites in one click.
Buy from the trusted sources: LocalEver provides 'Corporate Market Place' via Linkedin where employees can Buy, Sell and Rent anything within the company/colleagues and across companies.
Building Trust & Security: Only verified users (Email & Mobile No verification) can submit their listings and view contact details.
List View: LocalEver supports both Map and List views. Low bandwidth users can use List view to quickly find the information.
The Corporate Market Place is one area the team is especially confident about; their B2B bet. This is something where corporates can offer a free marketplace to their employees; the employees can buy, sell or rent anything within the company/colleagues or across companies. And employees can access this from anywhere.
LocalEver already has a corporate in Chennai who uses this and are in talks with others to ramp up their expansion.
More about the team
College buddies, Senthil and Ramesh both did M.C.A together in Kumaraguru College Technology, Coimbatore. Senthil has over 6 years of experience in making web and enterprise applications. Prior to LocalEver, he was Java/J2ee Technical Lead at Gantec Solutions. His responsibilities as CEO include Product management, Operations, Finance and Marketing. While, Ramesh spent his years in enterprise software development with variety of languages and tools (mostly in Microsoft stack). He takes care of technology at LocalEver.
In this period since they started working on the idea and a few days into launch, LocalEver has more than 150 real estate agents registered with them from Chennai and Coimbatore. They have more than 1500 listings.

Looking at the thought and the effort that has gone in behind the product, LocalEver stands a strong chance of riding the mobile wave in India. Many have tried to crack the LBS segment in India but it hasn't exactly caught up. With more and more efforts coming up, it is only about 'when' we see a few winners emerge.
