HasGeek has announced the second edition of Droidcon, an international series of conferences on Android. The first edition of Droidcon took place in Bangalore, on 18th and 19th November, 2011. Droidcon 2012 edition aims to draw attention to the latest developments around Android such as gaming, NFC, Arduino, multi-modal apps and UX/UI challenges faced while designing apps. The purpose of talks, workshops, demos and code jams at Droidcon

  1. 2012 is three-fold:To discuss the state of that the Android platform today and the advantages it offers to developers in general, and Indian developers in particular;
  2. To understand the state of technology around mobile web - HTML5, JavaScript - and the possibilities and challenges these present for designing apps for smartphones and tablets;
  3. How to develop apps for Indian markets, and popularize and monetize them in app stores?

Droidcon India 2012 looks to be a platform for both engaging conference sessions and informal networking and brainstorming discussions. The conference theme and topics intend to include beginner, intermediate and advanced audiences, offering takeaways for each. Sessions and demos will cover location-based applications developed on Android platforms, the impact of hardware on the phone’s performance, data security on Android, and toolkits and plugins available for Android developers.

Speakers at Droidcon 2012 are represent companies spaning including corporates, startups and communities namely the Bangalore Android User Group (BlrDroid). Venue: MLR Convention Centre, Whitefield. This is a brand new convention centre with top notch facilities including an 800+ seat auditorium and an overall venue capacity of over 1000.
