[YS TV] The Learning Lab - Bringing Science Based Learning into Classrooms

Education is a hot topic. Children have different ways of learning via different mediums and the education service providers are finding their niche in this growing market. Capitalizing on the education market and backed by years of experience in the Indian education sector, Purvi Vora and Sangita Kapadia, created The Learning Lab. The Learning Lab focuses on science based learning, and brings together different styles of learning with the investigative and discovery based nature of science.

Purvi Vora explains, “Learning Lab give the kids 3 hours to design a toy or a model that is based on certain science principles. The kids aren’t told what the principle is, but they are told their criteria and constraints. The first goal of the Learning Lab is for the kids to use problem solving and the second is for the kids to go through a problem solving design thinking process in a collaborative manner.”

As a for-profit business, The Learning Lab is working towards creating a model where every child will have access to their labs. In order to be affordable for all kids, Vora and Kapadia have created a pricing scheme to increase access, and work creatively and proactively to make their kits affordable for all children.
