GSF Accelerator spreads footprint to Chennai; Teams up with BharatMatrimony and Chennai Angels
Rajesh Sawhney's GSF Accelerator is the first one in India to try out a multi city format with their first batch where in they had centers in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. 15 startups were selected for the inaugural batch that presented at the demo day in Delhi. In an announcement today, GSF will now be present in Chennai as well for which it is teaming up with BharatMatrimony.com and Chennai Angels.
GSF has committed to selecting four companies in the Tamil Nadu area for its 9-week acceleration program (Batch 2) over the course of the next eight weeks. Each company selected will receive initial funding of $28,000 and the support of GSF’s angel network. “Chennai has grown rapidly in the last couple of years as a leading technology hub in India and with GSF’s presence, Chennai’s integration with the global startup ecosystem will accelerate in the coming years”, said Rajesh Sawhney, Founder of GSF Superangels. BharatMatrimony will provide co-location space & related services and Chennai Angels will provide mentorship and capital to the startups GSF selects. The applications for the Batch 2 will be opening up from March 1st and will run throughout the month. The companies will then be selected post which the program will start in the 3rd week of April.
