Siraj Dhanani, the founder of PharmARC (which sold out to IMS Health) and A. Vijayarajan, a medical technology veteran with 30+ years of experience have come together with plans to setup InnAccel. In a document floated by Siraj Dhanani, InnAccel will be building a network of accelerators to drive “affordable innovation” in medical technology.
InnAccel is setting up MedTech accelerators at different “Innovation Clusters” within India, to source good MedTech startups from India and globally that are working on affordable innovation. These will be supplemented by licensing technologies, sponsoring innovation contests, funding projects (BS/MS/PhD) at leading Universities, with funding agencies and existing bio-incubators to startups and pre-incubation/EiR programs.
InnAccel plans a milestone based business plan for startups and will aim successful graduation of startups with products within 2-3 years. InnAccel intends to provide a 15-20,000 sq. ft. facility with offices and labs that can house 10-15 startups, research and technical resources, mentoring and business support.
The foundation for InnAccel is still being laid and stay tuned to hear more in an interview with Siraj Dhanani and more information on them here
