Canadian Technology Accelerator selects six Indian startups for CTA@India
The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service manages the Canadian Technology Accelerators (CTA) in various locations across the globe. The Canadian Office has rolled out its Canadian Technology Accelerator or CTA@India initiative in Bangalore and the objective is to facilitate high potential technology-based Canadian and Indian startups. As part of the programme, six Indian and six Canadian startups have been selected for pilot phase.The programme will help Indian startups with global launch of their product/technology using Canadian innovation ecosystem as platform. It is a structured four-month virtual programme where participating startups will receive opportunities to pitch for investors, access global partners and clients. They will also get feedback on their product/technology, attend focused sessions on how to adapt to Indian/North American markets. The six Indian startups are:
AxisRooms (Bangalore): An online hotel reservation software
ZapStitch (Bangalore): ZapStitch is a “cloud Data Integration” platform that enables seamless data connectivity (integrate / tranfer data) between various Cloud/SaaS Business Apps like Netsuite, Salesforce, Gmail etc. without the need to write a single line of code.
Nityaa Labs (Airstream), Pune: A mobile app that lets you aggregate entire media & files from Computers & multiple cloud services on a single app.
NowFloats (Hyderabad): Business Discovery platform, NowFloats is on a mission to bring the Indian small and medium business online.
Piquor (Gurgaon): Experiential marketing solutions provider, Piquor provides photo booths to brands to engage their users.
S-Cube (Mumbai): A company dedicated to creating software solutions for structural and civil engineers.
The six Canadian startups are Azzimov Mobile-Montreal, Calgary Scientific-Calgary, Ecamion Inc-Markham, Optessa Inc-Edmonton, Wedge Networks-Calgary, Zighra-Ottawa.
We got in touch with Jitin Pillai, founder at Airstream to know more about the program. The company got introduced to the Canada Accelertor by Rajesh Sawhney of GSF (where Airstream underwent acceleration. "I was introduced to them at the GSF conference in Feb by Rajesh. We applied & got selected. The highlight of the program is startup Visa. If any Canadian investor decides to invest in us, we get a citizenship there and many free facilities to setup office," says Jitin.
