With a presence in India, US and China; fuel management startup LoudCell builds on momentum
LoudCell is a Gurgaon based startup that enables diesel generator owners to save fuel costs by helping them to reduce operational wastage, improve efficiency, and control pilferage. The cloud based application provides detailed and sophisticated data analytics to give the user complete picture and history of fuel usage/consumption and efficiency in power generation. The company was founded by Ramesh Gupta who has spent a good two decades in the technology industry in India and abroad across sectors. While analyzing the situation in India, he came across this grave problem of the inefficient diesel generators. There are numerous locations where diesel generators are used for getting continuous electric supply but are managed very inefficiently. This is where LoudCell steps in.
The company was founded in 2012 and last year, it was selected as one of the top 30 companies that presented at TechSparks (this year's edition is just around the corner- TechSparks 2014). LoudCell has shown promising progress over the last year and its team of 15 spread across India, US and China (mainly India) has been onboarding clients regularly. Talking about TechSparks, Rames says,
Being part of TechSparks last year was a game changer for us. TechSparks provided us a platform and visibility that has been instrumental in our progress. The networking and connections we made there have been a tremendous help.
Over the last year, they have received repeat business and further expanded business with their existing customers. LoudCell has added several key customers in manufacturing, commercial buildings, and SME segments, and built a strong pipeline. "We added electricity monitoring to our existing diesel iFMS product line to provide a comprehensive solution to the customers," says Ramesh.
LoudCell's technology has customers that include two well known names in auto component manufactures, one of the largest builders, select customers in SME segment, educational institutions, etc., Customers have reported savings in excess of 20% and in some cases up to 75% , with the product paying for itself in just a few months for most customers. Additionally, estimated savings on carbon emissions are significant. LoudCell is gearing to make a large economic as well as environmental impact. (read their complete story)
LoudCell plays in a very interesting space where it might be hard to penetrate but the impact is high and competition is less as well. With a good product in place, the current focus is on growing business. "We are gearing to scale sales, marketing and operations, and build team/infrastructure for the growth," says Ramesh.
