Put your code to better use, develop for a social cause
If writing endless lines of code is making your life meaningless, if you’re not able to connect with customers and if you’re feeling frustrated, the news is good: life in software development does not have to be so unrewarding. In the last decade, we’ve seen some disruption in technology; it’s made everyone realise its importance and the role it can play. While a lot of this disruption has brought people closer and, perhaps, even solved problems, a lot more is yet to happen to solve the social problems of a developing country such as ours.
We’re yet to effectively use technology to solve problems that affect the social and political milieu of our country. The right place to begin
There are different ways to hopon the technology bandwagon in the not-for-profit social space. Many organisations offer a host of opportunities -both volunteering and part time- if you find it difficult to make up your mind. You could test the waters and then decide to take the plunge.
