A Labour department release today said women hailing from both urban and rural areas would be offered training free of cost for a short period to equip them with skills to make, among other things, dolls and jewels.

According to PTI, the trades in which the training would be offered would also include vegetable and food processing activity.

A batch of twenty women would be enrolled in each of the trades and the intention is to enable the beneficiaries to take up self-employment projects, the release said.

The training starts next month at all the Labour Welfare centres in Puducherry region.
