DU college students recycle used paper for office use
In a novel initiative, students of a Delhi university college are recycling used papers for making several products to be used at the institute’s offices.
“We started working on a project ‘Use of Innovative Raw Material for Handmade Paper’ in 2014. Besides recycling used papers we are also trying to make paper out of other (useless and non-wood) materials,” the Zakir Husain College principal Sangeeta Pandita told PTI.
According to PTI, she said the students trained under the project are now making 70-100 paper sheets per day and recasting them into different products.
The paper recycle based waste minimisation is an initiative by students of Zakir Hussain College. Apart from running a successful handmade paper recycling unit, these students also plan to offer training to students and teachers of other colleges of the Delhi University.
