Jodhpur's engineer bags international recognition for providing sustainable cattle feed to rural farmers at low cost

Nikhil Bohra, a city-based biotech engineer, has bagged international recognition for his business venture ‘Cattle Mettle’, which aims to provide sustainable cattle feed to rural farmers at low cost.

He has been honoured by United Nations’ Industrial Development Organization’s (UNIDO) Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO), Italy for Innovative Ideas and Technologies in Agribusiness under “Youth category”. Nikhil is the only Indian selected for this award. He will be honoured at Milan EXPO, in Milan, Italy on August 26. The event will be organised by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and National Research Council, Italy.

‘Cattle Mettle’ was selected from 150 proposals submitted by companies, start-ups and research centres from 30 countries of Africa, Asia, North America, South America and Europe. Nikhil has also won Asia-Africa finals of Global Social Venture Competition and represented Afro-Asian region at the finals held at University of California, Berkeley, the US.
