India Post releases 'My Stamp' with Amazon India, here's how you can get yours too
Amazon India celebrated its third anniversary in India in style. India Post released the ‘My Stamp’ with Amazon India today, to signify 3 years of its relationship and celebrate the e-commerce marketplace’s third anniversary in the country. India Post is one of the prime carriers that Amazon India uses as a delivery channel in over 19,000 pin-codes through 155,000 post-offices which includes a majority of outlets in rural areas across all 35 states and union territories in India.
‘My Stamp’ is the brand name for personalized sheets of Postage Stamps of India Post launched first in 2011. Releasing the stamp Smt. Usha Chandrashekar, Chief Post Master General, Bangalore, Karnataka Circle said,
This is the first time that the Department of Post has released ‘My Stamp’ to commemorate a milestone with an ecommerce marketplace.
MyStamp history
‘My Stamp’ was first introduced in India during the World Philatelic Exhibition, ‘INDIPEX-2011’. There was considerable demand for it during the exhibition and many requests to resume its printing have since been received. This enthusiasm from stamp lovers prompted India Post to extend the ‘My Stamp’ scheme to cover all Postal Circles. This scheme is available in selected Philatelic Bureaux and counters /Important Post offices/Post Offices situated at tourist places. Selected themes are available at selected My Stamp Counters.
How to get your personalized MyStamp?
The personalization is achieved by printing a thumb nail photograph of the customer images and logos of institutions, or images of artwork, heritage buildings, famous tourist places, historical cities, wildlife, other animals and birds etc., alongside the selected Commemorative Postage Stamp.
The cost of one My Stamp sheet is Rs. 300. Corporate customers can also apply to get their personalized 'My Stamp'. However, a minimum quantity of 100 sheets will be mandatory for corporate customers. Images or Logo of the corporate organizations can be printed alongside the stamp.
Flipkart vs Amazon
Earlier in the day, Flipkart announced FlipkartGaming Online Championship (FGOC). Targeted at the gaming community in India, this is a month long online tournament being held between 3rd June and 11 July, 2016.
Recently, at the launch of Moto G4 smartphone, Flipkart and Amazon got into a Twitter clash with #SoreLoserFlipkart trending. Tiger Global Management, the largest investor in Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart, reduced its stake in the rival company Amazon by about two-third in the January-March 2016 quarter. 2016 has seen some major slash down in the valuation of Indian e-commerce giant.
According to the study by global research firm Ipsos, on India’s top 10 most influential brands, Flipkart ranked 7th, while Amazon occupied 8th place.
Earlier this month, Indian conglomerate Tata's entered the e-commerce market with the launch of TataCLIQ which will only insentify the Indian e-commerce war further.
