Delhi Transport Minister Satyendar Jain told PTI that the decision was taken to allow women and girls to travel without any hassle throughout the day to meet their family members and celebrate Bhai Dooj. He said all necessary formalities have been completed in this regard and orders issued to the officials concerned.

DTC has decided to deploy the maximum number of buses to cater to the extra rush of passengers. Regional and depot managers have been instructed to remain mobile in their operational areas to ensure adequate numbers of buses at heavy loading points, DTC said. The state government provides free bus rides to women on the day of Bhai Dooj every year.
