Friday January 13, 2017 , 2 min Read

Uber has partnered with Manchester United, one of the most popular international football clubs in the world, making this the taxi aggregator’s first global sports partnership.

The new partnership aims to bring fans together on match days. Uber will be teaming with Manchester United to make transportation hassle-free and deliver a pleasant experience throughout the season.

As a part of the partnership, a dedicated Uber pick-up and drop-off zone will be set up at Old Trafford, allowing fans to travel to and from games by simply using the app. Through experiences and interactive campaigns, the partnership aims to recreate the joy of travelling to Old Trafford.

Amy Friedlander Hoffman, Head of Business Development – Experiential Marketing at Uber, said, “Uber makes it easier for people around the world to connect to what they care about and now we’re excited to give that connection to Manchester United fans.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Manchester United to not only make match day transportation more seamless, but to deliver fans incredible experiences throughout the season, no matter where they are supporting from.”

An Uber statement read, “We are proud that Manchester United is our first global sports partner, and over the next several weeks, we'll be revealing more details on what specific experiences Manchester United fans can expect to see in their home country. Until then, Glory, glory, Man United.”

Details on the campaign and how it will work are yet to be finalised.
