Here's what Facebook's SheLeadsTech has in store for women entrepreneurs in Delhi

YourStory is the outreach partner for SheLeadsTech from Facebook.

A study by Facebook has revealed that four out of every five women in India want to start their own business. However, women entrepreneurs comprise less than 10 percent of the Indian startup ecosystem.

So, if you’re a women entrepreneur and a part of that exclusive statistic or wanting to help grow that number, and are battling gender biases and a tough market dynamic, or looking for guidance and mentorship to make your startup a success, this event could be just the thing for you.

The SheLeadsTech programme from Facebook

SheLeadsTech is an initiative from Facebook that aims to nurture aspiring women entrepreneurs by creating a strong ecosystem in which they can thrive and grow. An interactive platform for tech-related ventures, SheLeadsTech gives women entrepreneurs access to resources, tools, know-how, and exclusive mentorship that helps them build and scale their businesses.

As part of the initiative, Facebook has been reaching out to women entrepreneurs at offline meetups. The first two meetups in the series held in Bengaluru and Mumbai were a huge success. Women entrepreneurs had an unprecedented opportunity to network with each other and meet mentors, who are successful entrepreneurs and corporate leaders, and get face time with leading investors. All the attendees said it was a great learning experience.

But don’t be disheartened if you missed the meetups. As part of a continuing series of meetups, the next event is being held in Delhi on September 5th. Sumeet Singh, Chief Marketing Officer of Info Edge will be delivering the keynote on how to tell a winning story for your brand. Joining her at a panel discussion on storytelling for entrepreneurs, will be Nidhi Agarwal, Founder of Kaaryah, and Tara Bedi, Public policy & community outreach - Instagram, who will discuss various aspects of brand storytelling and answer any questions you may have. In addition to the speakers and mentors, representatives from Facebook will also be present to meet with attendees

And that’s not all. Here are five more reasons to attend the event and sign up for the Facebook SheLeadsTech programme. Get ready to fuel your startup dreams.

1. The best kind of mentorship

The SheLeadsTech programme will give you exclusive access to experienced mentors from the industry. The list includes Shalini Prakash, Venture Partner of 500 Startups; Durga Raghunath, Co-founder, Juggernaut Books; Naiyya Saggi, CEO and Founder, BabyChakra; Shikha Uberoi, Co-founder of Indi.com; Shradha Sharma, CEO of YourStory; Shanti Mohan, CEO & Founder of LetsVenture; Aditi Shrivastava, Co-founder of Pocket Aces; Meera Parthasarathy, SMB Account Manager at Facebook; Manisha Raisinghani, Co-founder and CTO of LogiNext; Christine Chia, Director of APAC Product Partnerships at Facebook; and Sumeet Singh, Chief Marketing Officer of Info Edge.

2. Year-long support and learning

The participants will get support for an entire year in the form of monthly interactive Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions with mentors. They will also get to be a part of the peer community on Facebook, with frequent opportunities to meet the Facebook team.

3. One-on-one sessions with women entrepreneurs who’ve made it big

Whether it is the online AMA sessions or the offline events in different cities, members will get a chance to ask the mentors questions about their own journey, seek guidance on what they should be doing differently, and how they can boost their business.

4. All the networking you’ll need

The events will give you a chance to engage with and interact with other women entrepreneurs like you, who might be facing similar challenges. This would be your big opportunity to learn from each other and build a strong network.

5. Support from FBStart

FBStart provides year-round technical support from Facebook, the chance to be a part of an exclusive community of global startups, free credits for tools and services from dozens of premier partners that you can leverage to grow your business, training on Facebook Developer Tools, and much, much more.

That’s a lot of benefits from just one programme! So, if you’re a woman founder/co-founder, and have a tech enabled startup, make a start by turning up for the SheLeadsTech meetup in Delhi.
