Protecting your enterprise from cyber attacks just got easier
Founded by five techies in their 30s, Bengaluru-based Threat Landscape is a cyber security startup offering threat intelligence to security operations teams.
As cyber attacks continue to threaten the integrity of enterprises, and hackers use sophisticated technology, the need for newer and advanced technology to protect companies is becoming critical. According to P P Chaudhary, Minister of State for Electronics and IT, India saw over 27,000 cyber security threats being reported to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), in the first half of 2017.

Here’s a startup that is marrying analytics and cyber security. Threat Landscape aims to protect enterprises from cyber threats. It provides real-time intelligence and cyber defence to help save millions in prevented data breaches.
In simple terms, “A security team may receive thousands of alerts and the team may not always know which of these are more relevant to look into. Working 8-12 hours a day, a human analyst has his limitations. Our platform helps them in prioritising the alerts. We narrow it down and tell the team the relevant logs to look into,” says Abhishek Bhuyan, co-founder of Threat Landscape. Additionally, they also help in identifying trending cyber attacks.
Threat landscape is a SaaS-based early warning system for cyber security. The platform ingests data points from open, deep and dark web, analyses it in real time to detect threats, and contextualises it for the user, so that customers are better protected than before. This cyber-threat intelligence startup uses Machine Learning and advanced natural language processing techniques to help enterprises mitigate threats.
“An enterprise can use our platform to integrate into their solutions or it can be used individually by analysts to identify threats that matter to them,” says Abhishek.
From founding to funding
The company was started by Abhishek Bhuyan, Praveen Hebbagodi, Navtej Singh, Pradeep Gotaparthi and Partha Biswal eight months ago. The team of five, all in their 30s, left their jobs to pursue their passion. Abhishek, Navtej and Partha were friends and got together with Praveen and Pradeep who worked together in analytics at Epictions. The team felt the technology that was built by Epictions (a content intelligence software company) could be useful to build a cyber-security platform. Thus, they borrowed the concept, modified it and made it useful for protecting enterprises from cyber attacks.
Abhishek had previously worked at McAfee, and he and Navtej have more than two decades’ combined experience in security and vulnerability research.
Threat Landscape made it to YourStory's coveted Tech30 2017 shortlist. Only eight months into the business, the startup has an ongoing POC with the Government of India to protect national critical infrastructure. Additionally, the team is also working with banks on a trial basis. While there are similar startups in India, Threat Landscape claims their competition is the international market.
Threat Landscape is currently bootstrapped and invests around $18000 per month. They are a team of ten and looking to expand in the near future.
