Confidence is just the right blend of attitude and knowledge. Whatever your occupation is, you need exude confidence to become a success. Several people still don't know what it is like to be truly confident and if you're one of them, then our advice would be to 'fake it till you make it'. Confidence offers certainty over one's ability; that one cannot step outside their comfort zone and accomplish things they truly value, something truly revered in business circles. If you let on the fact that you lack confidence in yourself and your company, you're setting yourself up for failure.

Here are five signs you are a truly confident individual.
You don't let insults get to you
Just like calling a table a car won't make it that, confident people know who they are and they don't let negative opinions get to them. Instead of retaliating to someone who offends them, they ignore comments that belittle them. They understand that going on the defensive is a drain on their mental resources and strength and therefore they abstain from doing so.
Speaking with authority
When a person is confident, it shows in their body language and speech. Their voice doesn't falter and they stand upright and look straight into their audience's eyes while talking. They approach every conversation rich with assurance and free of doubt. Confident people are authoritative because they have years of knowledge and confidence backing them. The surety in their voice is proof of their wisdom.
Aren't afraid of asking for help
Confident people are aware of the fact that they don't know everything that there is to know. They don't behave like cocky know-it-alls and aren't afraid to ask for help when in need. Seeking a helping hand is not a sign of weakness, if anything, it as an opportunity to gain more knowledge and experience.
You don't put other people down
An authoritative figure never indulges in tattletales and grapevine conversations. If they have something to say to someone, they say it in private instead of putting them down in public. They don't feel the need to insult someone to feel better about themselves. The only person they compare themselves to is the person they were yesterday.
You seek feedback from those who matter
Instead of paying attention to every naysayer who comes their way, confident individuals listen to only those people whom they trust and respect. They seek the feedback of those who inspire them and whom they look up to. They have a close-knit group of people who they trust explicitly. When they receive feedback from those close to them, they pay heed to it and act on it.
While for some it is a natural ability, and for others it may take years, the ability surely does bring about a holistic perception of things that matter. The above mentioned five signs are a precursor to how confidence should be reflected and how confident individuals can be separated like the wheat from the chaff.
