This doctor used his Rs 19 lakh PF to provide a bus service for college girls

This doctor used his Rs 19 lakh PF to provide a bus service for college girls

Friday October 27, 2017 , 2 min Read

Hailing from Kotputli in rural Rajasthan, Dr RP Yadav is a classic example of a selfless person. Deeply saddened upon seeing a group of girls walking to college in the rain, he did not hesitate to break his PF of Rs 19 lakh to buy a bus for college-going girls.

It was a while ago, during a heavy downpour, that Yadav and his wife saw the five girls. The couple offered them a lift and struck up a conversation, during the course of which they came to know that, with no means of transport, the girls had to walk to college every day. This conversation also made Yadav aware of the constant eve-teasing the girls had to face on their daily commute.

While most people save their PF for when they grow old, this man decided to invest his money to solve a problem not his own.

He had booked a bus even before the commencement of this year’s session but, owing to a shortage at the agency, it was delivered 19 days after the session began.

Thanks to his largeheartedness, 40 girls from places like Ramnagar and Bhopalpura are able to travel to college free of cost. The doctor called the same five girls who had first made him aware of the situation to perform the pooja for the bus.

He also mentioned that many were apprehensive of sending their daughters to college due to the lack of public transportation and the misbehaviour exhibited towards them in private vehicles. Another problem was that many girls from over five villages had to walk to the college even during monsoon.

The doctor lost his daughter in an accident nearly 20 years ago. He said that if she were still alive, the money would have been invested in her studies and wedding.

Dr Yadav has done many good deeds to serve society, and everyone, including his colleagues at the medical department, is aware of it. He is also associated with the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign and is working to create awareness about it.
