Meet 12-year-old Suchetha Satish who can sing in 80 languages
Have you ever heard of an individual singing in two or three languages? It sounds incredible yet plausible. However, what comes to your mind when you hear of a person who can sing in 80 languages? There is a 12-year-old Indian-origin girl, Suchetha Satish, in Dubai who has made this impossible feat possible.
Suchetha studies in the seventh standard of Indian High School and can sing in 80 languages. In a video which has gone viral on social media, she can be seen singing continuously in different languages. She aims to break the Guinness World Record by singing in 85 languages in an upcoming concert on December 29, 2017.
Suchetha says that she can sing in 80 languages, and she has learned to do so in just one year. She aims to learn five songs in five different languages before the concert in which she wishes to break a record. Suchetha, whose roots are in Kerala, wishes to sing in three Indian languages — Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil.
Though Suchetha has been singing in the English language at her school competition for years now, she began singing in various foreign languages since last year. She says that her first foreign song was in Japanese, and she found French, Hungarian and German the most difficult languages to sing in.
The Guinness World Record that Suchetha wishes to break is presently held by Kesiraju Srinivas who has sung in 76 languages. If she achieves the goal she has set for herself on December 29, she will definitely become a part of the Guinness World Records.
There are several videos and interviews of Suchetha on YouTube. Here is a video of her interview with a local FM channel in which she can be seen singing in 25 languages in five minutes.
