The global FinTech ecosystem continues to grow at a rapid pace as innovative, data-focused business models continue to disrupt the traditional FinServ industry. What’s more impressive is that Asia, with India and China in particular, has been driving this growth. According to a report by PwC, Asia saw a significant increase in fintech investments at $5.4 billion, up 12.5 percent from the year before, driven by China and India

Finance, and fintech in particular, continued to be a top contender for funding in India in 2017 as well. According to a December 2017 YourStory report, the year closed with a record $13.7 billion being invested across 820 deals. Of these, fintech accounted for about 60 early-stage deals with lending platforms, tech-enabled investment advisory and money management startups leading the pack. The fintech space also saw a healthy number of later-stage deals with lending startups, mobile payments service providers, and digital payments ventures finding backers. It should therefore come as no surprise that India is the world’s fastest-growing fintech ecosystem, as a report by MEDICI revealed.

To further encourage growth and help fintech startups scale up, Amazon Internet services is hosting AWS Fintastic 2018, a thought leadership event, that will see fintech startups, experienced founders, key influencers, and investors come together under one roof to discuss key trends, and how to navigate this complex business environment.
