Video-based learning platform Career Anna raises funding of Rs 3 Cr

The company aims to utilise the funds to launch a series of PRO Degree online learning programmes on artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, deep learning, DevOps and other new-age technologies that have an increasing demand in the market.

Online learning platform Career Anna has raised structured financing if Rs 3 crore from a group of angel investors represented by Subinder Khurana. Subinder is currently a Member of the Board at TiE Delhi, member of NASSCOM Product Council, and was earlier the Chair of TiE Entrepreneurship Nurturing Program and a NASSCOM-Emerge Mentor.

Career Anna enables students, professionals and even unemployed youth to ace exams, acquire skills and get into high growth careers. Users can select career paths and job roles they want to enter, undertake a programme to acquire industry skills or ace an entrance exam, do real-life industry projects and get hired by the ever-growing list of partner companies.

“The Career Anna team brings a fresh perspective to online learning by addressing the gaps which prevented online learning from becoming the primary source of learning. The team is passionate about driving quantitative outcomes for students and professionals, in sync with what companies are looking out for while hiring upskilled workforce in today’s world, where technology and skill requirements change every six months,” says Subinder, who is on the Board of Advisors for Career Anna.

Varun Saxena, CEO of Career Anna, is an MBA from NITIE Mumbai and also holds a certificate in Entrepreneurship Essentials from HBX-Harvard Business School.

“We bring in select experts and professionals from academia and industry to leverage our technology platform to create video-driven online learning courses, and then take these courses to learners with the assurance of quantitative and positive outcomes,” he says.

Career Anna wants to be a one-stop solution to meet aspirational and professional objectives of all stakeholders involved in a career value chain - students, mentors, institutes, publishing houses, coaches or corporates.

With a vision to transform over one million lives by 2020, Career Anna has already positively impacted 25,000+ students and professionals.

"Ensuring a smooth learning process has been our strength. We pair each student with an industry mentor/alumnus of top institutes, who provides real-world context, frequent feedback to continuously improve, resulting in 94 percent course completion rate, which is significantly higher than other platforms offering MOOC. Eighty-two percent NPS and more than 40 percent non-incentivised referral rate reflect customer satisfaction," adds Ayushi Marwah, Head - Operations, Career Anna.
