Paytm Mall, Asus enter into tie-up, to launch initiatives to enhance offline-online experience
The Asus-Paytm Mall partnership, unveiled in New Delhi, includes integration of Paytm’s PoS (point of sale) solution and digital experience zones at the former's offline stores. With this initiative, the digital payments giant forays into the Offline-to-Online (O2O) segment.
Paytm Mall has entered into a partnership with Asus, and launched its connected PoS solution whihc will allow shopkeepers to manage their offline (walk-in) and online customers. The partnership will help Paytm Mall implement the connected PoS solution at Asus retail stores, and subsequently expand to other brands and retail stores.
Maintaining a real-time inventory database and tracking sales is a major challenge in more than 80 percent retail stores. For such stores, Paytm Mall’s PoS solution aims to provide a unified solution that enables brands to sell their products offline as well as online. They can manage store inventory on the cloud with visibility on the available stock, view sales, manage pending orders, customer billing, create offers and exclusive promotions.
Furthermore, Paytm Mall will enable Asus offline stores with its innovative ‘Digital Experience Zone’ and Paytm Mall QR.
To reduce the dependence on physical inventory, Paytm Mall has also introduced the ‘Digital Experience Zone’ to simplify buying for customers. Digitally interactive screens in Asus stores and partner retail stores will showcase the product catalogue available. Consumers can select an item and get it delivered to their doorstep.
“We have been working closely with our partnered brand and retail stores. We realised that 96 percent of offline stores are under 500 sq ft and face challenges with keeping all stock/sizes/material and there’s a massive cost associated with it. Therefore, we are also introducing an interactive ‘Digital Experience Zone’ to give a virtual interactive experience to the customer once they walk-in to the store,” added Amit Sinha, COO of Paytm Mall.
The tie-up also marked the exclusive online launch of Vivobook X507 on its platform and through Asus offline retail stores.
The Taiwanese tech giant had earlier partnered with Flipkart to launch products specially designed for Indian consumers.
Leon YU, Regional Head South Asia & India, Asus India, added, “We are thrilled to partner with Paytm Mall and launch the Vivobook X507. We are really looking forward to the implementation of innovative customer-centric steps to enhance customer buying experience and significantly improve operating efficiency in collaboration with Paytm Mall. This partnership enables us to empower our partners and provide them with a wide range of digital network leading to a more superior quality shopping experience for our consumers.”
Paytm Mall aims to become the technology partner of brands and offline retailers by equipping them with its QR Code and enabling them to set up stores online. Customers can scan these QR Codes, browse online stores on the Paytm Mall app and place an order, which will then be delivered by the nearest brand-authorised local retailer.
