This 22-year-old entrepreneur has set up a multi-crore IT firm by using Google, caters to 15 countries
In the quaint lanes of Kannur, when everyday a uniform-clad boy raised the shutters of a small shop, no one had a clue what kept him busy for the next couple of hours. Locked inside, away from the distractions youngsters of his age are attracted to, TNM Jawad built a profitable business in ecommerce, web designing, and app development.
What started as a brainchild of Jawad, TNM Solutions Private Ltd. today caters to businesses in 15 countries and is a multi-crore business venture. At the age of 22, Jawad is the managing director of the firm.
It all began when his father gifted him a computer when he was 10 years old. Soon, his proficiency turned into a business venture for this student from SN Trust Higher Secondary School in the city.
It was a real struggle at the start. But I had a dream and worked hard to make it. I knew success would come sooner or later, said Jawad, who now employs more than 100 people.
Having started a business at the age of 16, Jawad honed his skills through virtual training on free apps and videos on blogging and web designing. "I was keen to learn about everything — like how websites were created, how they worked and spent most of my after-school hours in the same pursuit. You could say I was addicted to the computer but in a good way," he adds. He eventually started the company with his friend Srirag, on a free domain owing to low finances.
They started designing websites for a nominal amount of Rs 1000. The duo then started to advertise their work on Facebook and the business grew.
Today, the 22-year-old has offices in Kannur and Dubai and owns a BMW 3-series sedan and lives in his own house. Jawad is now pursuing a BBA course through distance education.
