Amazon will be piloting 'faster than same day' delivery and Delhi-NCR customers will be able to receive their smartphones within three to five hours.

Ecommerce platform Amazon India on Thursday announced that is set to pilot its new delivery service - 'faster than same day' delivery. On availing this service, customers would be receiving their smartphones within three to five hours after they have placed the order.

We all look forward to getting our hands on the best and most discounted products and with the festive sale increasing the online traffic on ecommerce platforms we often become restless while waiting for our orders to arrive, when products take longer than usual to reach our doorstep.

With its new 'faster than same day' delivery service available throughout its festive sale, Amazon assures its customers that orders will reach within hours. The company's smartphones category leader Nishant Sardana said that they understand that customers need their smartphones delivered as early as possible and this delivery service would enable the company to deliver products from their smartphone range within five hours of placing the order.

While the service would be free for its Prime members, non-Prime members would have to pay a delivery fee of Rs 150 to avail this service. Akhil Saxena, Amazon's VP (Customer Fulfilment), said that the company's robust fulfilment and transportation network enables them to deliver faster and more efficiently.

The new 'faster than same day' delivery aims to boast sales during their Great Indian Festival that is on until October 28. Amazon offers deep discounts and offers during the festive season and through this feature the company would look to increase its sale volumes.

The company noted that 'faster than same day' delivery service would be soon made available in other metro cities as well.
