Narpat Rajpurohit plans to pedal 26,500 km to spread awareness on education and environment
Narpat Singh Rajpurohit will embark on a cycling tour from January 20, 2019, spreading awareness on environment and girl child education.
Called Greenman, 31-year-old Narpat Singh Rajpurohit has been creating awareness on education and environment through cycling. Recently he covered 4,000 km from Kathua in Jammu to Kutch in Gujarat.
To date, Rajpurohit has planted one lakh saplings and urged several others to do the same. He has already cycled through Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.
Hailing from Barmer district in Rajasthan, Rajpurohit is now on a mission to set a new world record. He will cycle 26,500 km across 365 cities in India starting from January 20, 2019.
On what inspired his journey, Rajpurohit said,
“Mr Madan Singh Ji from Udaipur inspired me to work in this field and he also gave me an idea of using a cycle so that I can spread my message to local people. My first cycling ride was from Udaipur to Barmer.”
This journey will focus on the following topics, including saving the environment, healthcare, girl child education, and humanity to name a few, reports Dunia Digest.
In a span of seven years, he has completed four long routes of 3,000 km, four routes of 5,000 km, and over 20 rides of 500 km. He has also ventured into animal welfare. To date, Rajpurohit has saved 121 deer and has installed 2,050 water pots.
Rajpurohit’s tryst with planting isn’t new as he used to plant saplings around his home to create awareness. In fact, he gifted 251 saplings to his sister on her wedding in 2016 and also gifted a sapling to each member of the baraat.
