View Brand PublisherAWS AgriTech Day to bring together startups, enterprises and VCs to solve critical agricultural problems in India
Agriculture is the primary source of livelihood for more than half (58 per cent) of India’s population, and remains critical to the country's growth. While analysts expect India to have several years of continued success in the sector, it depends on agricultural stability.
Today, farmers face major challenges, including lack of storage facilities, lack of support for proper infrastructure, issues in cropping patterns, land ownership and tenure, among others. So, how do we resolve these critical problems? How do we scale fast in this sector while building new-age products? Answers to this and more will be discussed at this year’s AWS AgriTech Day.
A confluence of ideas
AWS, in association with Omnivore and SatSure, is organising AgriTech Day in three cities across India to bring together the best minds in the country to exchange ideas and explore unexplored territories in the agricultural sector. The aim is to discuss and come up with solutions and initiatives that will improve the country’s agritech sector.
The event will have insightful talks and panel discussions featuring VCs, entrepreneurs and enterprises including Jinesh Shah, Managing Partner, Omnivore, Mark Kahn, Managing Partner, Omnivore and Ritu Verma, Co-Founder, Ankur Capital Fund at Mumbai; Hemendra Mathur, Venture Partner, Bharat Innovation Fund and Subhadeep Sanyal, Principal, Omnivore at Delhi; Vijay Nadiminti, COO, a-IDEA and Abhilash Sethi, Principal, Omnivore at Hyderabad, among others. They will discuss how the next unicorn will come from agritech, how startups are an important piece in the agritech revolution and how technology can be an enabler for a robust agri-entrepreneur ecosystem.
Attendees will also get the chance to meet and network at the VC Connect and Startup-Enterprise Connect sessions to actively collaborate and solve agricultural problems.
