Flipkart adds five new bill payment categories via BillDesk partnership
Partnering with BillDesk and integrating with the Bharat Bill Payments System (BBPS), Flipkart aims to streamline electronic bill payments for its customers.
Flipkart has expanded its digital payment services by introducing five new recharge and bill payment categories: Fastag, DTH recharges, landline, broadband, and mobile postpaid bill payments.
Partnering with BillDesk and integrating with the Bharat Bill Payments System (BBPS), Flipkart aims to streamline electronic bill payments for its customers.
"We are thrilled to extend BBPS services to Flipkart, our longstanding partner. This strategic expansion allows Flipkart customers to experience seamless bill payments, receive timely notifications, and check amounts due across their preferred billers, leveraging BBPS capabilities," Ajay Kaushal, Co-Founder and Director, BillDesk, said.
As part of a limited-time deal, customers can redeem offers of up to 10% with SuperCoins by using Flipkart UPI, the company said in a statement.
Earlier in March this year, Flipkart launched its own UPI handle @fkaxis in collaboration with its co-branded credit card issuer Axis Bank.
Interestingly, Flipkart Group's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) app, super.money, launched in beta mode last month, initially available to just 100,000 users as per its website.
The app could be downloaded from the Google Play Store. According to the app's description, it offered "credit with the speed of UPI" through a partnership with Utkarsh Small Finance Bank. Axis Bank and IndusInd Bank were also listed as banking partners.
The app promised up to 5% "real cashback" on transactions instead of "useless rewards," according to its description.
