Turning parents into co-therapists; Atomgrid’s big bet on speciality chemicals
Mom’s Belief is a for-profit social enterprise focused on children with neurodevelopmental disorders. Its parent-as-co-therapist model trains parents to actively support their child’s development.
Hello,
India’s EV push is shifting into a higher gear. After unveiling its new EV Policy 2026, Delhi is offering subsidies for electric two-wheelers, tax breaks on eligible EVs, and a roadmap to phase out new petrol and CNG two-wheelers over the next two years. The policy could give a fresh boost to the country’s electric mobility ambitions, and companies like Ola Electric are already showing signs of benefiting. The EV maker nearly doubled its registrations in the April–June quarter, marking its strongest monthly performance in recent quarters.
Digital payments, meanwhile, continue to grow at a blistering pace. While UPI transactions eased slightly from May's record high, the platform still processed nearly Rs 29 lakh crore in June, with transaction value up 20% year-on-year, a reminder that India’s cashless economy continues to expand.
Meanwhile, the government is taking a closer look at WhatsApp’s planned username feature over concerns it could be misused for impersonation, fraud, and public safety risks, signalling tighter scrutiny of new tech features rolled out by major tech platforms.
And on the global front, a UN-backed independent panel has issued a stark warning that AI is advancing faster than scientific understanding and regulation, raising fresh questions about how governments can keep pace with the technology.
In other news, internet pioneer Vinton Cerf is retiring from Google after more than 20 years as its chief internet evangelist. Widely regarded as one of “fathers of the internet” for co-developing the TCP/IP networking protocols, Cerf's retirement marks the end of a decades-long career that helped shape the modern internet.

Turning parents into co-therapists

When chartered accountant Nitin Bindlish first stepped into an autism therapy centre to help a friend with finances, he didn't expect it to change his career. A decade later, that chance encounter has grown into Mom's Belief, a social enterprise that has supported over 56,500 children by putting parents—not just therapists—at the heart of autism and neurodevelopmental care. Now, the company is gearing up for an IPO as it looks to expand across India.
Parent power:
- Mom's Belief trains parents to reinforce therapy through everyday activities at home, combining in-person centres with online support, learning kits, and behavioural coaching.
- After pivoting from a franchise model, the company now operates 140 company-owned centres across 57 cities, with a strong focus on affordable services in Tier II and III towns.
- Mom’s Belief is preparing for a Rs 125–140 crore IPO, aims to scale to 1,000 centres, and plans to expand beyond early intervention into vocational training for teenagers with neurodevelopmental conditions.

Atomgrid’s big bet on speciality chemicals

After spending more than a year studying India's speciality chemicals ecosystem, former bankers Siddharth Gupta and Lakshit Bansal launched Atomgrid in 2023 to tap the global China+1 opportunity. Today, the Bengaluru-based startup is building an R&D-led, asset-light manufacturing platform for speciality agrochemicals, with exports driving growth and ambitions to create global brands from India.
Key takeaways:
- Atomgrid was founded to capitalise on the global shift in supply chains, focusing on speciality agrochemicals—a market the founders believe offers significant export potential for Indian companies.
- The startup combines an in-house R&D centre with 20 scientists and a network of 30 manufacturing partners, allowing it to scale without owning factories while strengthening its global supply chain.
- After growing revenue 3X from FY25 to FY26, Atomgrid is expanding across Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America, with plans to enter developed markets and eventually launch its own branded agrochemical products worldwide.
