Bill Gates wants AI taxed, jobs reserved for humans

India’s EV story is getting bigger—and fast. The market could touch Rs 20 lakh crore by 2030, creating up to five crore jobs, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said. But there’s a catch: India currently produces only 50,000-60,000 electric buses a year against annual demand of one lakh.

There’s fresh capital for startups working on some of India’s biggest challenges, too. The/Nudge Foundation has launched TILT, a Rs 250 crore impact investment platform that will back seed to Series A startups in areas such as climate resilience, MSME productivity, financial inclusion, livelihoods and AI. It will write cheques of Rs 2-16 crore, giving early-stage impact ventures access to patient capital. 

Meanwhile, OYO parent Prism had a blockbuster FY26. Revenue jumped nearly 50% to Rs 9,358 crore, EBITDA more than doubled to Rs 2,594 crore and net profit surged more than four-fold to Rs 994 crore. The profit figure, however, includes a Rs 678 crore deferred-tax credit.

And in the US, Meta has agreed to pay up to $18 billion over a decade to settle claims that Facebook and Instagram were designed to addict children. The bigger takeaway? The settlement leaves Meta’s ad-targeting and personalised feeds largely intact—meaning its core money-making engine remains untouched.
