
Astrobase Space Technologies is an Indian deep-tech aerospace startup building the infrastructure and propulsion technologies required for reliable, high-frequency access to space. Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Bengaluru, the company is developing reusable launch systems powered by indigenous LOX–methane Full-Flow Staged Combustion (FFSC) rocket engines, one of the world's most advanced liquid propulsion technologies. At the core of Astrobase's technology portfolio is an 800 kN reusable LOX–methane FFSC engine designed for multiple flight cycles, deep throttling capability, and high efficiency. The engine incorporates advanced 3D-printed components, precision manufacturing, and modern propulsion architecture to reduce production time while improving reliability and performance. Astrobase is also developing a two-stage reusable launch vehicle capable of delivering payloads of up to 3 tonnes to Low Earth Orbit (LEO), with booster recovery through Return-to-Launch-Site (RTLS) technology. Supporting these capabilities is the company's vertically integrated infrastructure, including a 46,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and integration facility in Bengaluru and a 21.5-acre private cryogenic engine testing facility in Andhra Pradesh, enabling end-to-end engine production, subsystem validation, and full-scale propulsion testing. Astrobase follows a vertically integrated engineering model that combines propulsion design, additive manufacturing, assembly, testing, and launch vehicle development within a single organization. This approach enables rapid product iteration, improved quality control, and faster commercialization of reusable launch technologies. The company collaborates with government agencies, commercial satellite operators, and international partners to expand India's space capabilities and recently secured support under IN-SPACe's Technology Adoption Fund for the development of its indigenous high-thrust rocket engine. By combining reusable launch systems, advanced propulsion, and large-scale testing infrastructure, Astrobase aims to reduce the cost of space transportation while positioning India as a global leader in next-generation launch services.
