Green Aero

Green Aero Propulsion is an Indian deep-tech aerospace startup developing next-generation propulsion systems for aviation, defense, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The company focuses on designing indigenous, fuel-agnostic jet engines capable of operating on both conventional aviation fuels and green hydrogen. Its mission is to reduce India's dependence on imported aero engines by building efficient, sustainable, and high-performance propulsion technologies that support the country's aerospace and defense self-reliance initiatives. Green Aero's core innovation is its dual-fuel aero engine technology, which enables seamless operation using jet fuel or green hydrogen while maintaining high combustion efficiency. The company is also developing a proprietary supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO₂) waste-heat recovery system that improves engine efficiency by converting excess turbine heat into usable power. In addition, it utilizes digital twin technology for engine design, simulation, testing, and performance optimization, reducing development time and improving reliability. These technologies are being developed for applications including UAVs, target drones, cruise missiles, and future hydrogen-powered aircraft. Green Aero carries out engine design, computational analysis, manufacturing, and testing in-house, ensuring rapid innovation and high product quality. The company collaborates with research institutions, investors, and strategic partners to accelerate commercialization and has received support through programs such as FITT-IIT Delhi, iDEX Aditi, MeitY initiatives, SIDBI GreenTech, and Pi Ventures.
