SHRI (Seismic Hazard and Risk Investigations Pvt. Ltd.) is an Indian deep-tech company specializing in seismic instrumentation, earthquake early warning systems, and natural hazard risk assessment. Established in 2020 as an offshoot of IIT Roorkee and incubated at TIDES, the company focuses on developing indigenous, cost-effective technologies for detecting earthquakes and other vibration-based natural hazards and providing timely warnings to reduce their impact. SHRI's capabilities include the development, manufacturing, deployment, and integration of seismic sensors, data acquisition systems, monitoring networks, and intelligent warning platforms. Its product portfolio includes BHU WARN earthquake early warning systems, BHU Sense, seismic switches for homes, offices and public spaces, EQ Alarm, and water-tube tilt meters. These systems collect and process seismic data to support real-time alerts, monitoring, and disaster preparedness. In addition to instrumentation, SHRI provides seismic hazard and risk assessments, strong-ground-motion analysis, geophysical investigations, landslide monitoring and warning systems, and specialized studies for infrastructure such as dams, nuclear and thermal power plants, bridges, hospitals, and other major engineering projects. The company also conducts disaster-awareness programs, training, and mock exercises. Through indigenous R&D, technology commercialization, and engineering expertise, SHRI aims to strengthen India's disaster-risk reduction capabilities by making advanced seismic monitoring and early-warning technologies more accessible, reliable, and scalable.
