India is a new hub of startup after Silicon Valley US in the world. If you are thinking to start a blog for your startup this year? This article only for you. So, you decide to start a blog Hmmm? Great idea! Today I am going to tell you some important tips about blogging that you need to know before you jump in Content marketing and blogging.

If you follow these tips you will definitely get a lot of new visitors on your startup blog.  I know there is so much information out there on the web and even my mom writing about blogging and to do different things. But who do you listen to? Where is the starting point? I promise you that it’ll be interesting, simple and easy to understand. Sound good?

Awesome, let’s start.

We all know that “Content is King, and distribution is Kingdom”. Blog content serves as the best way to increase blog traffic and establish the all- relationship of “know, like, trust” through the provision of free content.

There are few other marketing channels available that allow you to connect so well with customers as well as giving you a platform to provide readers with a ton of value.

To stand out, your startup’s industry, and to generate quality traffics and leads through your blog, be sure to follow these essential tips while creating a blog presence.

This article is not to motivate someone to start a startup and blogging. It is best suited for someone who already made the decision to start a blog and thinking to start content marketing for their new and existing startups.

#1 Make Proper content plan:

Startups of any industry start with an idea that focused on creating innovative solutions to social or business problems. Similarly, a startup’s blog should be creative and unique to solve the reader’s problems. Generic content found on any blogs will not satisfy market expectations or build the buzz needed for launch. Before you actually start your blog, you should determine what stories you want to share. Ask yourself and/or your co-founders and create a proper content plan and research your topic idea and title. Additionally, make sure that your content is well-written with proper grammar and readability.

#2 Research your competitor blog and content:

As we mentioned in the above point that a startup starts with focuses on innovation and offer some type of unique added value that solves the problem; otherwise, what differentiates you from the competition? Before start blogging, you should research competing business blogs. There are hundreds of online tools available I suggest SEMRush.com and BuzzSumo.com for content research both tool allow you to discover a competitor working.

#3 Choose Right blogging platform:

I love WordPress for blogging it is easy to use and SEO friendly and world largest and most popular CMS for blogging. I suggest you choose WordPress for building your blog. There are countless plugins and add-ons and almost infinite ways to design and layout your blog. Choosing where you want to build blog is pretty much the first thing you have to do.

There are other alternatives available for start blogging. Like

Blogger –

Tumblr –

Weebly – etc.

Even though WordPress is bigger, better, and easy to use than those three now it’s up to you which one you love to use.

#4 Develop an efficient and excellent writing style:

A good blog is a long and strongly -written message, which is key to every business communication. I see too many blog contents that ramble on for many pages without a clear message. Practice makes a man perfect, so develop a unique and an efficient or effective style of writing that deliver the right message to reader life and feedback will tell you quickly if you are on target.

#5 Promote content beyond social media:

After publishing a post on a blog, we share it on social media platform because social media is the best and free method of promotion these days. Most bloggers just feel so accomplished after publishing a content and expect hundreds of readers will come and read only through a single tweet and Facebook post. But this is not possible with startups.

The best advice I got last time about writing and building a successful blog post came from a guy who sold his blog for about $3 million. He said to me that “My suggestion is that you should spend 25% of your time writing/editing and 75% on marketing, outreach, and networking with other people.” This will make your blog so popular and the user will reach you without doing anything.

Final Words:

Blogging is not a rocket science that you need to learn and research first for doing anything new in blogging, for startups are just like a professional blogging. In fact, hiring an experienced content writer and blogger or digital marketing evangelist may be in your startup’s best interest.

Either way, you have to create a planning, creativity, focus, and determination to build up your blog as a core marketing tool.

Be prepared yourself in blogging industry to hear “No” a lot, but that’s OK. It’s part of the life journey.
