    SAP Labs recently announced that they are looking to hire around 2,500 engineers over the next two years for their new Bengaluru facility.

    They have continuously been in the top 10 best IT companies to work with in India. It was ranked 7th in the 2016 poll and ranks in the 3rd position this year.

    Not just in terms of opportunities and freedom that is given to the people, SAP also pays a lot of attention to employees’ welfare. They reworked their sabbatical policy, where people who have worked for over 2 years or more in SAP can take a sabbatical for entrepreneurship for up to two years.

    A lot of freshers prefer joining SAP for these very reasons. Which is why 46% of SAP employees are millennials with over 9,540 millennials joining SAP in 2016.

    SAP mainly hires candidates from on-campus drives and off-campus recruitment.

    On-campus recruitment process

    SAP conducts campus placement drives in several colleges.

    They place a lot of importance for leadership, communication and innovation skills. Try to develop these skills while in college and have a proof that showcases these skills.

    The prerequisites required to appear for the recruitment are:

    60 percent throughout (Class X, XII and Graduation)
    Candidate must be a B.Tech (Computer Science / IT / Electronics)

    After having these prerequisites, these are the following rounds that SAP conducts:

    Online Test consisting of 25 aptitude questions and 2–3 coding questions
    2 Technical interviews
    1 Managerial interview
    1 HR interview

    The online test is a screening round. Questions asked in the test are quantitative ability questions and logical reasoning questions, along with coding questions.

    A few of the topics that the technical interview covers are :

    SQL, C, C++, Java
    Data structures
    Operating Systems

    These are some of the commonly asked questions:

    Difference between Abstraction and Encapsulation
    Implement Circular Linked list
    What is Agile/Driven Methodology
    Reverse a link list,height of binary tree

    The Managerial round questions are subjective opinions on current affairs. In this round, the interviewer is trying to assess the thinking process.

    The final round is the HR interview. The interviewers would ask questions to know about the candidate, such as, hobbies, interests, future plans etc. This interview is to see if the candidate fits into the company culture.

    Off-campus recruitment process

    SAP accepts applications from various portals. But the best way to turn the application to an offer is through a recommendation or referral. The other ways to apply are through their careers page or LinkedIn.

    The Off campus recruitment process is spread across 3 rounds. An online test, 3 technical interviews and a managerial interview.

    The online test are MCQ questions based on verbal ability and technical questions. 2–3 coding questions are also asked.

    After the test are the interview rounds. Topics that you should focus on are:

    Database concurrency
    Operating System

    The Managerial interview is also technical in nature. For instance, the candidate would be asked create an algorithm based on a few criteria.

    Some of the frequently asked questions during the interviews are:

    How do you design a Cloud Application
    Difference between ArrayList and LinkedList
    Write a program to print the higher version of a Value. Ex: Value1= Value 2= o/p: in these 2 values write a program to print the Higher Version
