On 7th September 2016, CEO of Apple: Tim Cook announced the launch of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at San Francisco’s Graham Civic Auditorium, which was later released on 16th September 2016. In the iPhone series, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the current flagship devices succeeding the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. Throughout September and October, 2016 iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were released in various countries worldwide. 


According to the overall design, iPhone 7 is similar to the iPhone 6S except that it introduces new color options, water and dust resistance, static home key and the removal of 3.5 mm headphone jack. Heterogeneous quad-core system with improved system and graphics performance and upgradation of optical image stabilization on 12 megapixel rear-facing camera and an additional telephoto lens that provides enhanced zoom capabilities on iPhone 7 Plus models are upgrades received in the internal hardware of device. Also the size and volume is similar to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S along with mirrored finish option. Regarding the colors, new matte black and jet black (dark shade, high gloss black finish) are the colors offered to the new iPhone series. As far as water and dust resistance is concerned, the iPhone 7 is rated IP67. Instead of physical push button iPhone 7’s home button has a capacitive mechanism for input and is pressure-sensitive and the 3D touch system is also retained which was introduced on the iPhone 6S. Taptic Engine vibration feedback system that is housed by second grille replaces the 3.5 mm headphone jack in iPhone 7.
