Shashank Murali is the CEO of Relevel by Unacademy.
A serial entrepreneur at heart, Shashank founded Edvice, an online tutoring platform, with his batchmates while still pursuing his undergraduate studies at BITS Pilani. The company was then sold to US-based HashLearn, making Shashank and his co-founders the first undergraduates in 50 years of BITS Pilani history to have sold a company while still in college.
Straight out of college, Shashank founded Tapchief in 2016 - an online future-of-work platform that allows professionals to learn, network and win short-term projects, without committing to full-time jobs.
In 2021, Tapchief was acquired by the Unacademy Group to build Relevel, with Shashank at the helm as the CEO. His strategic direction to the company has helped Relevel achieve tremendous scale within a short period of time.
Shashank is firmly driven by the power of driving incomes and levelling the playing field. He believes that it is imperative that we democratise access to the best opportunities to millions of Indians from every nook and corner to propel economic and lifestyle growth. This philosophy serves as the guiding light for Relevel’s vision and efforts in improving outcomes for every job-seeker.
A self-taught programmer turned business guy, Shashank has a keen interest in building great consumer products, reducing economic inequality, relentless growth and when not working, is often found catching up on the latest cricket trivia while classic rock plays in the background.
